The Authors

This site is an personal effort by two individuals, Mike Marshall & Glade R Newman. Mike is the page's author while Glade is the contributing artist. Both would like to make this a "One of a Kind" resource that will entertain as well as provide a real service. Both Mike and Glade would like to make this site an example of their abilities, to provide personal advertizement and exposure.

We are both excited by this new media platform and would like to participate in it for years to come. We hope you enjoy this site.

I would like to thank several people for helping to make this site what it is today. First my family for tolerating my obsession with computers. Second, Glade Newman, a local artist and personal friend who has agreed to donate his art in exchange for the exposure this site might generate. I am extremely grateful to him for his contributions. Third to Doug Updenkelder and Greg Palser for the many years of patience and technicle advice.

  • I am a Microsoft Certified Professional, on both Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0 operating systems.
  • I have 10 years experience designing inventory systems for a large multi site production corporation.
  • I have 20 years experience in production and management of seafood at all levels. Recently as president and general manager of Newport Shrimp Co. Inc. in Newport, Oregon until it sold in the summer of 1996.
  • Currently I am the general manager of Oregon Oyster Farms.

I have been very happily married to Pamela Marshall for the past 14 years. We have two sons, Austin who is 8, and David who is 6. We live on the Central Oregon Coast in Newport, Oregon.

Newport, is a beautiful community built around Yaquina Bay and many white sandy beaches. There are two functioning lighthouses and lots of coastal forests. The fishing industry brought me here and I hope I am never forced to leave.

Glade R Newman

Meet the Magician, behind much of the Artwork

 Glade Newman's love for detail, color, and imagination combine to create the magic of his artwork. A man of many talents, Glade received his formal art training at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Portland State University in Portland, OR and studied under many well known artists. Glade's work is multi-media including sculptures, oils, pen and ink, as well as glass etching. Glade has been commissioned to do numerous pieces as well as taught art in various forms to adults and children. Glade Newman's love for life and his enthusiasm for the world of imagination brings the magic to life in his work.

Glade has many varied works of art for sale in local Newport galleries and throut California.

Glade lives in Newport, Oregon with his wife Patty, and his children:
